GRADING INFORMATION
LATE WORK
Points are deducted off of any papers that are late.
Late work is any assignment that is handed in after
the due date. The students do have
some time in the morning to work on any late work.
However, I do not encourage this.
If an assignment is given, it is due the next school day.
I will always be available to help the students when they need
me. However, I do encourage them
to read over the directions carefully and try to do the work on
their own. When we begin an assignment, I read the directions
aloud to the class as they follow along. Then, the students reread
the directions before they start the assignment. I strongly encourage them to let me know if they have any questions. Some children tend to be quiet and not ask questions.
Please stress to your child to ask for help when it is needed.
The students need to understand that they are responsible for
their work. Your child will have more homework and more responsibilities in third grade. Please work with them in developing a homework time and place in which they can sit and not be distracted. They will be bringing home an assignment sheet daily that you will need to check and sign.
Please be sure that your child’s homework is finished before
you sign it. By doing this, you will know the daily
assignments and see that your child has completed
his/her work. (This will also help reduce any LATE work.)
Please feel free to call me if you have any questions about an
assignment. I want to be aware of any misunderstandings
that you or your child may have.
